Kristen Morkel is a South African-born surface and textile designer and founder of Design Kist, a Cape Town design studio established in 2010.
Her work spans interiors, fashion and product design, with collaborations in South Africa and internationally. Now based in Seattle, she designed the prints for COCOLILI’s debut collection at New York Fashion Week and her work has been featured in numerous design and interiors publications.
“African Memphis” wallpaper selected by Li Edelkoort for “Totemism: Memphis Meets Africa.” The design went on to receive international recognition, appearing in Metropolis magazine, Sherwin Williams trend forecast catalogue and a Thames & Hudson publication on postmodern design.
